Metrowerks develops, markets and supports CodeWarrior development tools for the most widely used desktop and embedded operating systems and microprocessor targets. The company was founded in 1985 in Montreal, Canada and moved the corporate headquarters to Austin, Texas ten years later. Other Metrowerks offices are located in Silicon Valley, Europe, India and Tokyo. Metrowerks became an independently operating subsidiary of Motorola in September of 1999.

Metrowerks intros CodeWarrior for Wireless Java tools
At this week's JavaOne conference, Metrowerks is introducing CodeWarrior for Wireless: Java Development Kit and CodeWarrior for Wireless: Java Edition. The new programming tools have been created to help software developers create wireless applications using Java technology. The new development tools are built from the ground up support Sun's Java 2 Micro Edition (J2ME), according to Metrowerks.
